Substack baby Substack
!!!! REAL footage of Cathy being disrespected in the studio click link now !!!
Hey there folks!
It’s Cathy checking in today. Hope everyone is finding some joy in that sunshine (between the end of the world hail stones and mass protests). I certainly am and I’ll tell you why!
We recently moved house. It truly is one of the most stressful things in life isn’t it, to move? But we made it and we are so glad we did. We are so fortunate to have a garden in our new abode where we are witnessing flowers and tress that we didn’t plant come out and say hello. Summer is coming! In all this doom and gloom, seeing this growth feels very grounding.
The house was built in 1910 so it needs a bit of love and care. Our first thing to tackle is the floor downstairs. Unfortunately with old boys like this one, dry rot and wood worm are a real thing. So we are stripping two rooms entirely, board by board. We found at coin from 1889! We put it back where we found it just incase it is structurally supporting the entire house.
We are going to try and salvage what we can and keep it in it’s original state so we went to Lidl’s middle isle and bought two pairs or work pants and some gloves (and some crazy chocolate that I couldn’t leave because it looked so gross. I actually liked it).
We are fortunate enough to know VERY handy people who are helping and guiding us- particular shout outs to my dad and Greg, Gráinne’s family friend.

So that’s where we are at! Finding love and respect for old things. Appreciating all of the people who worked before us and excited to fix this floor for the people who will come after us. Someone will find a coin from 2026, google the year and go ‘Jaaaysus’.
In other news- we finished our FOURTH studio album. Here is a genuine first guitar take that somehow made it onto a track with a working title of “Kiss Kiss”. I kind of like that title though? Anyway it’s video evidence of the abuse I suffer.
It’s sounding like an exciting new path for PQ. And for all of those concerned with Pamela’s coffee making in the studio, she has made steady improvements. But if we know anything about Pamela, it’s that she likes her coffee strong.
As always, we appreciate your emotional and financial (especially financial) support. If you dig us or any of your favourite bands, consider pledging to their Substack or buying some merch. In our case, it will be helping getting this record over the line.
Hope you’re all doing great out there and would love to hear from you in the comments.
Cathy xx (and Sarah and Pamela)

The house looks great! Good luck with the reno.
My house is 1840ish, still a work (years!) in progress,
That work on your new house looks super cool! I also recently moved into a house with a garden for the first time in my adult life, so I totally get where you’re coming from with the flowers & trees popping up! I’m currently mesmerised watching the magnolia tree at the end of our garden open out more each day and all of the birds that are coming in to sit on its branches! Best of luck with the rest of the work on the house & the flooring.
That guitar solo sounds cool btw! I’ll now know how the sound was created when I’m listening to it 😄
